Premium Lobe Pumps are the ideal pumps for use in demanding processes. Stainless steel 1.4404 or 1.4435 and FDA approved elastomers are standard for all parts in contact with your product. A stainless steel gearbox cover was just a logical step for the Premium Lobe Pump. The modular structure of the shaft seals and the gearbox ensure non-stop availability and a wide variety of configuration options for individual customization to meet the toughest requirements. CIP/SIP-procedure can be performed without any restrictions. Capacities up to 720 gpm [163 m3/h], differential pressures up to 1200 psi [80 bar] depending on pump type, temperatures up to 300°F  [150°C] depending on application.

Why do we call our pumps Premium Lobe?

1. Premium materials and procedures: 

iPP Pumps uses state of the art machining procedures and tools to manufacture all important components of the pump from a solid piece of material. Parts in contact with your product are made of high quality rolled steel or stainless steel. there is no comparison with the previously used cast steel or iron parts (castings, can have porous surface, sand enclosures, etc). The flexibility in design, manufacturing and application as well as hygienic quality due to a non porous surface cannot be overstated.

2. Premium welding procedure:

iPP Pumps uses Electron beam welding (EBW). EBW is a fusion welding process in which a beam of high-velocity electrons is applied to two materials to be joined. This is done under vacuum. Heat input is minimised, there are practically no signs of distortion and the typical human influences on the quality of welding seams are eliminated.

3. Premium Design:

Take our premium design concept couple it with a mechanically detailed and sound construction add some unique design points (gearbox, seals, shaft, etc.) and you can only arrive at our iPP Premium Lobe Pump. The iPP Premium Lobe Pump line surpasses considerably the early load limits of rotary lobe pumps. As stated before it is of vital importance to keep the rotors running concentric in order to guarantee contact less running in all performance points. The sum of all parts is what makes the iPP Premium Lobe Pumps superior. 1200 psi [80bar] discharge pressure cannot be achieved outside a premium design and manufacturing concept. The in-house manufacturing is a fundamental component of the final product the iPP Premium Lobe.

Free of residues through self cleaning effect (CIP / SIP)
For important operating situations the characteristic slip of the centrifugal and rotary lobe pump is a most welcome side effect as the slip ensures a cleaning function if all pump elements are arranged in this flow path. Only the rotary lobe pump offers this effect. Front loaded mechanical seals (integrated in the rotor) and flat housing covers, are imperative conditions for cleaning without residues (CIP/SIP). Due to its innovative gearbox design the iPP Premiumlobe can run during the CIP/SIP-procedure, even with high temperature changes. The active running of the pump during the cleaning process is imperative for an effective CIP procedure as otherwise the slip volume flow which is important for the cleaning effect, wouldn’t arise. A differential pressure of 15...50 psi (1…3 bar) is enough to achieve the self-cleaning effect of the iPP Premiumlobe. The flow speed at the critical elements like mechanical seals, rotor screws and o-ring seals often reach up to 64 ft/s (20 m/s). Standard CIP flow speed in the piping  usually reaches 5 ft/s to 10 ft/s (1.8 m/s, max. 3 m/s).
Shaft seals :
  • ALL SEALS are interchangeable and fit the same space
  • Lip Seals fit where single mechanical seal fits where double mechanical seal fits…
  • all can be removed from the front of the pump while pump is in line.
Capacity and functionality:
  • Short shaft overhangs increase the functionality, seal life, hydraulic efficiency and overall capability of rotary lobe pumps considerably.
Hygiene:
  • CIP /SIP procedure allow no residue in any conditions. EHEDG design and certification.
Serviceability:
  • “Front-Pull-Out” – Seal change in 5 minutes for non-stop-availability.
  • The modular structure of the iPP-Premium Lobe & iPP-iLobe Pumps is very obvious when it comes to seals.
  • All seals are accessible from the front and all seals fit the same space.
  • Seal selection is an important part of the functionality of the pump.
  • iPP standard materials for mechanical seals are SC/SC (Silicone Carbide) or TC/TC (Tungsten Carbide).
  • O-Rings and aux seal materials can be NBR, Viton, Viton-FDA, EPDM, EPDM-FDA, PTFE – FDA or Perflourelastomer (Kalrez)
